    365 Bible Reading

    March 26 – Galatians 4

LOOK:  This passage gets difficult.  Paul still makes his appeal to the people in Galatia to not turn back to trusting in the law for their salvation.  He now reminds them of how much love they had for Paul and how much they had sacrificed and was willing to sacrifice for him.  He asks how they could now turn and rebel after such a great relationship.  Paul concludes by explaining that they are now free and no longer slaves to the law.

LISTEN:  You can hear the pain that Paul has when writing this letter.  He does not want these dear friends to fall away because of false teaching.

LEARN:  Are you guarding yourself from false teaching?  Beware…there are many people claiming to be Christians today that teach false doctrine and dangerous teachings.

    365 Bible Reading

    March 24 – Galatians 3

LOOK:  Paul really gets after the believers in Galatia for heading backwards and relying on the law.  Paul spends a great portion of this passage explaining that the law can not bring life but only guilt.  Life can only be found in Christ by faith in His atoning sacrifice on the cross.

LISTEN:  The warning for us today would be to understand grace.  It could be easy to trust in our righteousness and begin to think of ourselves as accepted by God because of our goodness and deserving religious lives.  Our righteousness only comes from Christ and we deserve nothing but death but because of God’s great mercy, He gives us life.

LEARN:  Guard yourself from becoming arrogant about your goodness.  Remember, the Bile tells us that all of our good works are like a pile of filthy rags!

    March 23 – Proverbs 12

LOOK:  What’s your favorite proverb from this passage?  Here is mine, “A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.”

LISTEN:  I enjoy reading through the proverbs.  Take the time to read through this section this weekend.

LEARN:  I challenge you to post your favorite verse from this passage.  There are so many good ones…I don’t think it will take you long to choose one to share with our group.

    For Today!

    March 22 – Galatians 2

LOOK:  “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”  These famous verses come after Paul confronts Jewish believers that were rejecting the Gentile believers.  Paul makes it clear that God had sent him to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles and that those who believed should be accepted as brothers without harsh requirements of the Jewish law.

LISTEN:  If you are not a Jewish believer than you should thank God that in His great plan for mankind, He opened up the Gospel for all who would believe.

LEARN:  Rejoice in your Salvation!!  Without grace we would all be accountable to a Holy God with no hope of forgiveness.

    For Yesterday!!

    March 21 – Galatians 1

LOOK:  Paul is writing to the church in Galatia. He is concerned that they have been listening to a false doctrine and being pulled away from the truth that he taught them.  Paul then stops and gives his testimony.  He lays a foundation for his authority in Christ.

LISTEN:  The main point so far in this book is to guard yourself from false teaching that could drag you away from Christ.

LEARN:  How do you determine if a teaching is truth or a false teaching?  I suggest that you take every teaching directly to the Scriptures and see if it is in harmony or if it is contrary.
