April 18 – Matthew 10
LOOK: This chapter is a call for Jesus’ disciples to be faithful and obedient to their message and duty. It talks about where the disciples were to go and where to stay and the humility required of a servant. These verses truly summarize Jesus’ message, “Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.”
LISTEN: Even though this passage was directly for the original twelve disciples and specifically a call to minister to only Israel, we can receive some principles to live by. We too should be willing to be Christ’s disciples at any and all costs. We too should take up our cross daily and follow after Jesus.
LEARN: How are you taking up your cross? How are you being Christ’s disciple today? What is it costing you?
