February 19 – Acts 20
LOOK: There is a great story here about Paul preaching late into the night and a young man falls asleep in a window on the third story eventually falling to his death. Paul runs down and raises the man from the dead and goes back upstairs and preaches until morning! You think I’m long winded. Then we have these great words from Paul, “I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Paul was a brave warrior of the Gospel!
LISTEN: Ministry can be tough. Serving God is not for the faint at heart. As you can see from this passage, dealing with people can be brutal.
LEARN: Count the cost. I can tell you that serving the Lord full-time in ministry is the best choice that I have ever made. It comes with a price but it is worth it all. Never be afraid to follow God’s call for your life.
