    Sorry for the delay!

    January 23 – Acts 1

LOOK:  Jesus speaks to His followers before ascending into heaven.  He tells them, “…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Matthias is then chosen to replace Judas as one of the disciples.

LISTEN:  After Jesus rose from the dead something amazing had to happen to the living believers.  Until that time, the Holy Spirit would only rest upon an individual and could be removed.  Now, the Holy Spirit would indwell individual believers.  For those believers alive at that time, the Holy Spirit was going to come in an incredible fashion.

LEARN:  I am glad that God gives each believer the Holy Spirit on the day of their salvation.  The Holy Spirit is the source of power for all believers.  The H.S. enlightens Scripture, convicts of sin and gives guidance.  The Holy Spirit is also a “deposit” of sorts until Jesus comes back to claim us as His own.
