Kevin Bolte reminds us that we serve a supernatural God (“That’s not natural!”) who has done the impossible by fulfilling hundreds of Old Testament prophecies about the coming Messiah when he sent us his Son, Jesus Christ. Last week we focused on the ancestry, birth and life of Jesus. This week, Kevin highlights a number of key prophecies about the ministry, death and resurrection of Christ.
Pastor Shane Stec teaches that Jesus is the only person that fulfills all of the hundreds of prophecies from the Old Testament. This week we look at a handful of prophecies about the the ancestry, birth and life of Jesus and the reality that his fulfillment of these prophecies provides powerful, supernatural proof of his identity as the promised Messiah.
Pastor Shane Stec teaches from John 20:19-31 that not only was Jesus sent into the world to save us, but that when we are saved, we are also sent to continue Jesus’ mission. Craig Darling, the U.S. Director for India Rural Evangelical Fellowship (IREF) and one of Oakwood’s supported missionaries, teaches about the biblical foundation for missions from Psalm 67 and shares about IREF’s work of reaching people for Christ in rural India. Craig was one of three speakers at Missions Sunday this week, along with Lois Beadle who serves in Haiti, as well as Larry Maxwell from the Gideons. Unfortunately, due to technical reasons, we did not get a quality audio recording from the others who shared.
Pastor Shane Stec teaches from Ephesians 4:1-16 that God has given us a clear game plan for unity in the church. We must honor Jesus as the Head, hold on to oneness, get in the game and use our gifts, and we must grow up, not just show up.
